Mumbai, Aug 12 (KNN)  The number of firms on the BSE SME platform is now 65 with Chennai based Carewell Industries Limited joining the band wagon. The BSE SME Exchange, Bombay Stock Exchange's platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), is witnessing a lot more SMEs listing on the platform these days. However, active trading takes place in less than half of the companies listed.

Today, Carewell Industries has come out with a public issue of 71,14,500 equity shares at a price of Rs 10 each (face value of Rs 10 and premium of Rs 5).  Its market lot is 8000 shares at Rs 15 per share.

Operating in the household insecticide industry, Carewell Industries (formerly known as PL Chemicals) is engaged in the marketing of mosquito repellent coils under the brand ‘Rooster’.  The brand name ‘Rooster’ is owned by the company through its wholly owned subsidiary, CKM Homecare Solutions. It is also engaged in the marketing of incense sticks (agarbattis) with the brand names ‘Deo’ and ‘Samraj’.

Carewell Industries Limited gets it products manufactured from third party manufacturers under its own brand, and markets it through its network of dealers and distributors. It has entered into an agreement with the manufacturers for the production under its brand name.  Currently, the products are sold in South India, primarily Tamil Nadu.

Further, the company tests the products being manufactured by third party manufacturers and also checks the inputs used by them. Based on the test it prepares an analytical report on whether the products and inputs are approved or otherwise.

BSE commenced the SME platform on March 2012 and in over two- year period, BSE has achieved more than 90 per cent market share helping Indian SMEs create a market capitalisation of more than USD 1 billion.  Average IPO size on BSE SME is close to Rs 9 crore per issue.

BSE SME Platform offers an entrepreneur an investor friendly environment, which enables the listing of SMEs from the unorganized sector scattered throughout India, into a regulated and organized sector.  (KNN/ES)
