New Delhi, Dec 8 (KNN) The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar with PAN till 31^st of March 2018.

The earlier deadline to do the same was set to 31^st August 2017 which was further extended to 31^st of December 2017.

The extension comes in the backdrop of the reports surfacing of cases in which the taxpayers couldn’t complete the linking process due to certain difficulties.

The Ministry of Finance in a tweet from its official twitter handle said that it has come to notice that some of the taxpayers have not yet completed the linking of PAN with Aadhaar. Therefore, to facilitate the process of linking, it has been decided to further extend the time for linking of Aadhaar with PAN till 31st March, 2018. (KNN/DA)
