Raipur, Dec 20 (KNN) In order to boost the pace of industrial investment in the state, the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) is planning to provide a facelift to the infrastructure of the industrial areas of three cities near the Mumbai-Howrah rail route.

“Owing  to  Industry  friendly  administration  and  strategies  to  promote  industries, various infrastructure projects are proposed around Raipur,  Bilaspur and Durg which are at various stages of implementation,”  CSIDC said in a notification.

In this context, CSIDC has invited bids from consultants for preparation of detailed project report for strengthening and upgradation of infrastructure in industrial areas of Urla (Raipur), Sirgitti (Bilaspur) and Borai (Durg) under the Modified Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (MIIUS) of the government.

The Government of Chhattisgarh under the Department of Commerce and Industry had declared the Industrial Promotion Policy, 2009-14.

As a result of policy initiatives taken by Government of Chhattisgarh to  attract  investment,  established  industrial  houses  and  prospective investors  have  shown  interest  in   investing in Chhattisgarh to keep up and boost the pace of industrial investment.  Hence, the state government has decided to revise the existing Industrial policy.

The policy pays special attention to promotion of small and medium enterprises to minimise the adverse impact of global recession on industrialization in Chhattisgarh.
The areas have been conceived for the development of infrastructure for various Multi Product industries.

The site at Industrial Area Urla (Raipur) and Sirgitti-Tifra (Bilaspur) and Borai (Durg) have distinct locational advantage. These industrial areas are situated near by Mumbai-Howrah rail route and there is a great demand for industrial plots in this area. (KNN/SD)
