Commerce Ministry to frame guidelines for e-commerce

New Delhi, Jul 26 (KNN) Tightening the e-commerce websites with the increasing consumer complaints about the products, the Corporate Affairs Ministry is proposing to make guidelines for consumer protection while shopping online.

The department of consumer affairs has been receiving a large number of complaints from consumers making online purchases, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed Parliament.

She mentioned that the department is regularly receiving complaints such as non-delivery, delayed delivery, defective products etc.

“The Ministry of Consumer Affairs is proposing to frame guidelines for protection of consumers’ interest in online shopping,” Sitharaman said. (KNN/SD)
