New Delhi, Oct 27 (KNN)   Export of dried silk worm pupae to the European Union will only be allowed if the exporter has a shipment clearance certificate issued by the Chemical and Allied Products Export Promotion Council.

This was notified by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on October-22.

“A ‘Shipment Clearance Certificate’ is to be issued consignment-wise by the CAPEXIL indicating details of the name and address of the exporter, address of the registered plant, IEC No. of the exporter, plant approval number, nature of  export product, quantity,  invoice number and date, port of loading (Name of the port) and  destination,” the notification said.

It said after the shipment is made, the exporter will also have to provide a health certificate consignment wise to the buyer giving details of vessel name and shipping bill number with date as per the requirement of EU.

"The certificate would be issued jointly by CAPEXIL and Regional Animal Quarantine Officer, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India," it added.

Dried silkworm pupae contain high levels of protein that contribute to the rapid growth of fish, while keeping them strong and healthy, media reports have said. (KNN/ES)
