Congress President Sonia Gandhi stresses upon poor condition of MSMEs during CPP meet

New Delhi, April 5 (KNN) Highlighting the sufferings of small businesses, Sonia Gandhi, President of Indian National Congress (INC) said the micro, small amd medium enterprises (MSMEs) are still in a most precarious condition. She said this while chairing the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) meet on Tuesday.

Accusing the government of dividing narratives and debates in the country, she urged for protests around the recent fuel hikes to be continued.

She called out the government and stated that there is no sign whatsoever that the commitments made to the farmers are going to be fulfilled in any significant manner.

“Prices of cooking gas and oil, petrol, diesel, fertilisers and other essential commodities have risen to an unbearable limit—and continue to rise,” the Congress leader added.

Addressing and reviewing the performance of her political party, she called for unity at all levels of the party.

"Unity at all levels of our vast organisation is of paramount importance and, speaking for myself, I am determined to do whatever is needed to ensure it. Our revival is not just a matter of importance to us alone—it is, in fact, essential for our democracy itself  and indeed for our society as well," she said.

The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the current political situation, strategy in both Houses of Parliament and the way forward. (KNN Bureau)
