Core sector grows by 2.3 per cent in April 2013

New Delhi, May 31 (KNN) The eight key infrastructure sectors grew by 2.3 per cent when compared to 5.7 per cent during the previous year.

While coal production registered a growth of 3.1 per cent in April 2013 compared to 5.9 per cent in April 2012, steel production grew at the rate of 1.9 per cent in April 2013.

However, other sectors like crude oil production and natural gas registered a negative growth.

Natural gas production also showed a negative growth rate of 17.4 per cent.   

On the other hand, petroleum refinery production grew at 5.6 per cent in April 2013 compared to 20.8 per cent in April 2012.   (KNN)
