Hyderabad, May 8 (KNN)  The State Bank of India branch in Eluru in Andhra Pradesh has seen a massive growth in credit demand among small and medium enterprises (SME) and home loan segments during the financial year 2012-13, a state bank official said.

Addressing a press conference in Eluru, the bank’s Assistant General Manager said the credit demand in the SME segment had crossed Rs 308 crore, 15 per cent more than the performance in the previous year, and Rs 161 crore in home loans.

The credit volume in the home loan segment in the main branch was the highest of all the SBI branches in the three districts of Krishna, West and East Godavari districts, he added.

The bank had clocked a profit of Rs 18 crore with advances at Rs 334 crore while deposits stood at Rs 240 crore during the year.

Further,  the incidence of non-performing assets (NPAs) came down to Rs 9.5 crore from Rs 17 crore during the period because of a continuous drive for recoveries.  (KNN)
