Deptt of Expenditure invites comments on Draft Standard Bidding Documents for procurement of Goods

New Delhi, Jan 13 (KNN)Amidst the big push on public procurement through ‘Make in India’ and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives of Government of India, the format of bidding documents is in for a change.

The Department of Expenditure under Union Ministry of Finance has put  ‘Draft Standard Bidding Documents for procurement of Goods’ in public domain for comments and suggestion from stakeholders.

The draft is available at Public Policy Division section of the website:  https://doe.gov.in/sites/default/files/Seeking%20inputs%20from%20Stakeholders%20on%20Draft%20Standard%20Bidding%20Documents%20for%20procurement%20of%20Goods_0.pdf

The demand for revision of the bidding document has been emanating from several quarters to standardize the tendering formats and instil greater transparency.

To revive the economy battered by the Covid pandemic, public expenditure is being seen as a potent policy tool. But industry associations have been highlighting the need to reform the public procurement process. The move is seen to address some of these concerns.
