New Delhi, Jun 1 (KNN) Khushkhera-Bhiwadi-Neemrana Investment Region (KBNIR) in Rajasthan is developing at a fast pace with the DMICDC, the implementing agency, taking a number of steps to carry the project forward.

After floating tenders for an assessment study for an airport project in Bhiwadi, 60 km from Delhi, the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC) is now in the process of appointing consultants for an innovative plan to arrange water for meeting large industrial and residential needs of the area which is part of the USD 90 billion, DMIC project covering six states including Delhi-Haryana-Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.

The DMICDC will develop ‘sustainable integrated water resource management plan’ to ensure water availability in the area.

The project will cover a distance of 1,483 kilometres.

It is intended to be a trade and industrial hub which will include an Aerotropolis.  The proposed Aerotropolis project while serving as a back-up for the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) would also be attracting passengers as well as cargo within at least 100 kilometres radius from Rajasthan and even adjoining Haryana.

In this context, the consultancy firm will support the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in assessing and satisfying the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s suggestion for a study that will verify that KBN Aerotropolis, Rajasthan, does not pose a threat to the core catchment area of the IGIA, Delhi.

The basic work to be performed by the consultant would be preparation of impact assessment and compare whether the IGIA catchment area overlaps with KBN investment region.  (KNN)
