New Delhi, Dec 3 (KNN) At the CII Partnership Summit on Sunday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar underscored India’s pivotal role in the global arena, advocating for stronger international partnerships amid economic volatility.
Highlighting the necessity for a strategic transformation, Jaishankar stressed that domestic development is essential for international credibility. "The greater our domestic capabilities, the more attractive we become as a partner," he remarked.
He emphasised India’s rise as the fifth-largest economy and its efforts to position itself as a stabilising force and a key contributor to global growth.
“India, advancing further, holds higher stakes and greater responsibilities. In a volatile global economy, India can act as a stabilizing factor, contributing to global growth and advancing technology,” said Jaishankar.
The Minister outlined the challenges posed by emerging technologies and the transformative shifts in the global economic landscape.
"From AI to EVs, space, drones, green hydrogen, and clean technologies, the demands of critical and emerging technologies are reshaping the knowledge economy.
With much of the world facing a demographic crisis, India’s human resources are a critical asset," he stated.
Jaishankar lauded the government’s focus on improving infrastructure and logistics through initiatives like Gati Shakti, which he said have enhanced India’s business climate and made Indian manufacturing more competitive.
He pointed to the establishment of 12 new industrial nodes and a push for skills promotion as evidence of India’s commitment to becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse.
“By scaling up manufacturing and fostering an industrial culture, we not only bolster our credibility abroad but also contribute to resilient global supply chains,” he added.
India's cultural and economic influence, Jaishankar noted, is expanding through its diaspora, corporations, and partnerships.
He concluded by asserting that forging effective international partnerships requires robust foundations at home, ensuring India remains a reliable and innovative global partner.
This vision reflects India's ambition to anchor global stability while advancing towards Viksit Bharat—an advanced and self-reliant India.
