Economic Survey 2022: Govt needs to spend $1.4 tn on infrastructure to become $5 tn economy by 2024-25

New Delhi, Jan 31 (KNN) According to the Economic Survey 2022, an investment for about $1.4 trillion in the infrastructural development will lead to India achieving a GDP of $5 trillion by 2024-25 with establishing infrastructure investment substantially as a key challenge.

Keeping this objective in view, National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) was launched with projected infrastructure investment of around Rs 111 lakh crore ($ 1.5 trillions) during FY 2020-2025 to provide world-class infrastructure across the country, and improve the quality of life for all citizens.

It also aims to improve project preparation and attract investment, both domestic and foreign in infrastructure.

FY21 also saw an increased significance of allied sectors including animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries in growth and income of the farmers indicates that focus needs to shift more towards harnessing the potential of allied activities.

There is also a need to improve productivity of small and marginal farmers through development and implementation of small holding farm technologies, noted the economic survey.
