New Delhi, June 15 (KNN) The Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers on Goods & Services Tax (GST) will submits its view tomorrow to the Parliamentary panel looking into the Constitutional amendment bill for introduction of new indirect tax regime.

"Tomorrow, I am going to present the proposal before the Parliamentary committee... Most of the states are in agreement with GST," said K M Mani, chairman of the Committee.

"Some states are asking for compensation, some states are asking for review of additional tax. Those things have to decided," he said.

Mani said this while talking to the media persons after meeting Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

The Centre proposes to roll out Goods and Services Tax from April 2016. States have been raising the issue of compensation, besides other matters at the meeting of the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers.

The 21-member select committee will submit its report tomorrow, ahead of the monsoon session, which is likely to start in July. The bill has already been passed by the Lok Sabha. The NDA is in a majority in the Lok Sabha but not in the Rajya Sabha.

The Rajya Sabha select committee discussing the bill on GST will meet on tomorrow. (KNN Bureau)
