New Delhi, June 11 (KNN) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to hold Pre-Budget consultation meeting with different stakeholder groups in connection with Union Budget 2019-20 today.

She will hold a meeting with representatives of agriculture & rural development in the first session followed by meeting with representatives of Industry & Trade Associations in the second session.

The theme for discussion for pre-budget meeting for industry, trade and service sector includes Foreign Direct Investment, issue of mergers to enhance productivity, the categories of services needed to be expanded to meet domestic demand, and tariff structure to increase domestic output and exports.

Sitharaman has called a meeting of leading industry chambers today to elicit their views on various issues, including steps to boost Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows and industrial productivity, as part of the Pre-Budget consultation exercise, according to media report.

The meeting will be the first joint interaction with Sitharaman, who took over as India's first full-time woman finance minister last month, after the BJP-led NDA government won a second term.

The Budget will be presented by the minister in the Lok Sabha on July 5, 2019.
