Finance Minister to hold pre-budget meet with industry today

New Delhi, Nov 26 (KNN) Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will today hold a Pre-Budget Consultations on Union Budget 2017-18 with different stakeholders. The industry and trade sector representatives have also been invited for the consultation.

The Ministry has sought suggestions from the representatives for consideration of the Finance Minister on Budget.

The government has decided to advance the Budget process by a month to ensure that it is completed before the start of the new financial year on April 1.

In the past, Budget has been presented on the last working day of February.

Apex body for MSME Associations in the country, FISME, which has also been invited by the Ministry for consultation, is submitting Budget Proposal for consideration on behalf of the MSME sector.

Some of the suggestions to be made by FISME are - Leveraging Import duties to support ‘Make in India’; Access to Finance for the MSME manufacturing sector; Operationalizing RBI TReDS platform for sale-purchase of MSME bills and more.

EEPC India will be submitting proposal on behalf of the engineering sector which contributes 20% in total export kitty of the country. (KNN Bureau)
