FM to hold 'Pre-budget consultations' meeting with trade, industry leaders on Dec 17

New Delhi, Dec 13 (KNN) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be holding Pre-budget consultations with different stake holders to solicit ideas and suggestions for the union budget 2020-2021 on December 17 at North block with key focuses on ''Industry, Services and trade''.   

Apart from other industry bodies, Federation of Indian Micro & Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME) has also been invited for the meeting to highlight key issues and demands of the MSME sector.

The Ministry has requested small write ups on the suggestions and ideas which the stake holders propose to highlight during the discussions, prior to the meeting.

There are several issues under the Industry, Services and trade which will be discussed in the meeting to boost these sector.

Under Investment, the issues concerning the stake holders are: Regulatory environment impacting private investment (ex. delays in

Permissions, onerous regulations etc.) And Role of the State: delayed payments, contract enforcement etc.

While on the other hand in Trade issues like Measures for promotion of exports amidst rising protectionist tendencies and India participation in FTAs/PTAs/ Multi-lateral Trade Agreements will be discussed.

Apart from these two focus areas, Services too have issues, which will be highlighted in the meeting like What steps need to be taken to formalize the informal component of the services sector?, Real estate market after the new fund given for completion of ongoing projects, Telecom sector issues: Financial health and policy related issues for bringing more investment, Industrial Production: Policy interventions to promote industrial especially, manufacturing growth.

Logistics for domestic and international trade will also be discussed in the meeting.
