New Delhi, Feb 21 (KNN) The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the provisions in the Foreign Trade Policy 2009-14, relating to export and import of goods and services, beyond March 2014.

“The existing Foreign Trade Policy 2009-14 (RE-2013) was to remain in force until March 3, 12014. To provide continuity in policy environment, this is being extended beyond March 31, 2014 until further orders, said a DGFT notification.

Earlier, it said, “The FTP 2009-2014, incorporating provisions relating to export and import of goods and services, shall come into force with effect from 27th August, 2009 and shall remain in force until further orders.  All exports and imports up to 26th August 2009 shall be accordingly governed by the FTP 2004-2009.”

There was confusion persisting among exporters after presentation of the interim budget on whether the provisions would continue beyond Mar 31 or not.

Now the exporters who take up future orders could make calculations accordingly. They could also quote the competitive rate and continue to maintain the growth trend in the coming months. (KNN/SD)
