Govt raises incentives for export to new markets

New Delhi, May 28 (KNN) In order to make their participation in trade fairs easier the market development assistance scheme of the government  has been extended to exporting companies with export turnover of upto Rs 30 crore in the preceding year. The earlier limit for MDA was Rs 15 crore.

Apart from this the limit of market assistance has been increased for focus market areas. It has been increased to Rs 2.5 lakh from 1.80 lakh for for Focus Latin American and Caribbean Countries (LAC), from Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 2 lakh for Focus African countries, Focus CIS countries, Focus ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand.  


Furthermore, international exhibitions where the number of participants exceeds 75, Export Promotion Councils will be eligible for a higher financial support to the tune of Rs. 40 lakhs.

EPCH, Executive Director, Rakesh Kumar  expressed satisfaction and said, "The Council has raised the issue of revision of MDA guidelines at various meetings held with the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Commerce Secretary, Finance Secretary and DGFT."

"Finally, the demand has been met and it is a very significant step towards export promotion efforts and would certainly lead to increase in exports in the future," he added. (KNN)
