GST Council to hold its eighth meeting today; representatives from crucial sectors to make presentations

New Delhi, Jan 3 (KNN) The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council will meet in the national capital today during which representatives of crucial sectors will give presentations.

The GST Council is headed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

The council will meet the representatives of six crucial sectors, including IT, telecom, banking and insurance, to assess the implementation hurdles under the new GST regime.

Presentations will be made by the representatives of Civil Aviation and Railways.

The GST Council is also likely to discuss the issue of jurisdiction of assessees in the new regime.

This will be the eighth meeting of the council since it met for the first time on September 22, 2016.
