GST council to meet today, small exporters-traders wait with big hopes

New Delhi, Oct 6 (KNN) Following the Central and State government officials meeting in the national capital on Thursday, the GST council is to meet later today to review the concerns under the newly rolled out Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The GST meeting chaired by the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is being eagerly eyed upon by the Micro,, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), that are expecting some relief under the One Nation One Tax regime of the government.

Earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the government is open to hearing the pleas of sectors and acting accordingly.  PM Modi during his address to the Company Secretaries recently said that if any specific sector needs some assistance under the structural reform in taxation, the government is willing to offer them support.

Also, earlier, Revenue Secretary, Hasmukh Adhia, said that the GST council is aware of the concerns of the different sectors, especially the SMEs in the country and it will take steps accordingly to address the concerns of the sector. (KNN/DA)
