India ought to take advantage of economic stability by strengthening exports: IMF
New Delhi, Jan 6 (KNN) International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that in view of the world economy, India is in a relative "bright spot", but it needs to leverage its existing strength in services exports and extend it to job-rich manufacturing exports.
This was said by IMF Deputy Managing Director Antoinette Sayeh on Friday at an event in New Delhi, reported Reuters.
He said, “India is a relative bright spot in the world economy today, growing at rates significantly.”
Sayeh further said macroeconomic policies are responding to the significant headwinds, with fiscal policy measures supporting vulnerable groups and monetary policy addressing persistently high inflation. (KNN Bureau)
