Indian Railways organizing Vendor Meet for MSMEs in Rae Bareli on November 11

Lucknow, Oct 31 (KNN) The Indian Railways is organizing a Vendor Development meet in Rai Bareli on November 11, 2016 in order to bring more transparency in the public procurement procedure.

According to the Public Procurement Policy, it is mandatory for the Central Public Sector Units to procure minimum 20 per cent from the MSME sector.

India Railways is celebrating a Vendor Week for Ease of Doing Business in the second week of November, 2016.

The vendor meet is being organized by the Modern Coach Factory (MCF) on this occasion in Rae Bareli on November 11.

The objective of organizing the vendor meet is to improve ease of doing business and bring more transparency in the public procurement procedure, MCF said in a communication to the industry body IIA.

During the meet, dissemination of information on various initiatives taken by the Railways in general and the concerned unit in particular would be done.

There would be open house discussions, brainstorming sessions and workshops covering issues related to vendor development, competition, quality, ethics, grievances and policy issues.

The meet will also provide opportunities to the new vendors by displaying and sharing information on items for which new vendors are required and vendor development and assessment process. (KNN Bureau)
