New Delhi, Nov 6 (KNN)  In order to provide market support to the MSME sector and to encourage more and more MSMEs to become vendors of the Railways, the Central Organization for Modern Workshops (COFMOW) is organizing a training programme for vendors this month.

COFMOW, under the Ministry of Railways, has invited all manufacturers of machinery and plant for the meet, to be held on November-28 here.

The meet will also give focus to training on e-procurement from the Railways.

Funded through World Bank credits, COFMOW was established under the Ministry of Railways for modernizing Indian Railway workshops.

COFMOW offers services to those needing modernization or upgradation of their manufacturing/maintenance activities.  It also provides professional advice and a single window service in planning and procurement of machine tools and allied equipment.

Under the Public Procurement Policy for goods produced and services rendered by MSEs, all Central ministries and PSUs will have to ensure that a minimum 20 per cent of all their total annual purchases of products or services are from MSEs. (KNN/SD)
