Indian traders export goods worth Rs 3.75 crore through Nathula border in Sikkim

New Delhi, Nov 30 (KNN) During the 13th edition of bilateral trade between Indian and China at Nathula border in Sikkim this year, Indian traders have exported goods worth Rs 3.75 crore, according to a release of the Information and Public Relations Department (IPR) of Sikkim Government.

It quoted, “The Indian traders exported goods worth Rs 3.75 crore against import of goods worth Rs 27.69 crore from their counterparts of China's Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) during seven months of trading window this year at Nathula border.”

A function was held at Nathula border to mark closure of this year's trading season at the international border.

It was attended among others by the Commerce and Industries Department official and other line departments of the Centre and state government.

A growth of nearly 15 per cent is registered this year by the Nathula border trade, against last year's trade volume of Rs 3.54 crore, the release said.

The release said that the bilateral trade between India and China through Nathula route was suspended for over two months due to standoff between the two countries over Doklam issue.

There are 36 items on export list from India comprising dairy products to utensils.

A total of 20 items, including quilts and jackets, figure in import list from TAR, it added.
