India’s growth the fastest among G20 economies: PM Modi

Lucknow, June 3 (KNN) Addressing the Ground Breaking Ceremony @3.0 of the UP Investors Summit at Lucknow on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India is the fastest growing of the G20 economies and is at number two in the Global Retail Index.

During the Ground Breaking Ceremony, he laid the foundation stone of 1406 projects worth more than Rs 80,000 crores.

The projects encompass diverse sectors like Agriculture and Allied, IT and Electronics, MSME, Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, Pharma, Tourism, Defence & Aerospace, Handloom & Textiles etc.

Highlighting India’s progress, he said that last year India recorded FDI of USD 84 billion came from more than 100 countries of the world. India has created a new record by exporting merchandise worth more than USD 417 billion i.e. 30 lakh crore rupees in the last financial year, he said.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Rajnath and top industry leaders of the country.

PM Modi thanked the investors for showing their faith in the capability, dedication, hard work and understanding of the youth of Uttar Pradesh.

He said that proposals that were entered into today will create new possibilities in Uttar Pradesh and reflect the growing confidence in the growth story of Uttar Pradesh.

Referring to the completion of 8 years of the NDA government at the centre, he said “We have laid emphasis on Policy Stability, Emphasis on Coordination, and Emphasis on Ease of Doing Business”.

The UP Investors Summit 2018 was held in February 2018, with the first Ground Breaking Ceremony being held on July 29, 2018 and second Ground Breaking Ceremony on July 28 2019.

During the first Ground Breaking Ceremony, foundation of 81 projects worth more than Rs 61,500 crore was laid, while in the second Ground Breaking Ceremony, foundation of 290 projects with investments of more than Rs 67,000 crore was laid.  (KNN Bureau)
