India’s WPI Inflation rises to 3.39% in Dec; Mfg products inflation rises to 3.67%

New Delhi, Jan 16 (KNN) India’s wholesale price (WPI) index inflation rose to 3.39% in December from 3.15% in November, the government data showed.

Manufactured products inflation rose to 3.67% from 3.20%. Meanwhile primary articles price rise slowed to 0.27% in December from 1.25% rise in November, the data showed.

The food articles inflation for the month was in negative, indicating a 0.7% fall in food prices in December as compared to 1.54% rise in the previous month.

While, Fuel and Power inflation also rose sharply to 8.65% in December from 7.07% in November, and core inflation was up at 2.2% in December as compared to 1.6% in November.

Amongst manufactured items, index for Beverages, Tobacco & Tobacco Products; Paper & Paper Products; Basic Metals, Alloys & Metal Products; Machinery & Machine Tools; and Transport, Equipment & Parts rose for December.

However, the index for Non-Metallic Mineral Products; Chemicals & Chemical Products; Leather & Leather Products; Wood & Wood Products; Textiles declined for the month.
