Industrial productivity of India surged 5.2% in May
New Delhi, July 13 (KNN) The Ministry of Statistics revealed on Wednesday that India's industrial output (INIP=ECI) rose 5.2% year-on-year in May.
The factory output growth measured in terms of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) stood at 19.7% in May 2022, mainly due to a lower base effect.
Power generation rose 0.9% in May 2023 compared to a growth of 23.5% a year ago.
Mining output rose by 6.4% during the month under review against an 11.2% expansion in the year-ago period.
Along with the Quick Estimates of IIP for the month of May 2023, the indices for April 2023 have undergone the first revision and those for February 2023 have undergone final revision in the light of the updated data received from the source agencies.
The Quick Estimates for May 2023, the first revision for April 2023 and the final revision for February 2023 have been compiled at weighted response rates of 92%, 93% and 95% respectively. (KNN Bureau)
