June core sector growth slows to 3% as compared to 4.4% in May

New Delhi, July 31 (KNN) Country's core industries growth slowed to 3 per cent in June as compared to 4.4 per cent in May, while its  cumulative growth during April to June, 2015-16was 2.4  per cent, according to official data.

Output had grown 4.4 per cent year-on-year in May. 

Electricity production expanded an annual 0.2 per cent last month, sharply slower than 5.5 per cent in May. 

Electricity generation (weight: 10.32 per cent) increased by 0.2 per cent in June, 2015. Its cumulative index during April to June, 2015-16 increased by 1.5 per cent over the corresponding period of previous year.

The infrastructure sector accounts for nearly 38 percent of India' industrial output. 

Coal production (weight: 4.38 per cent) increased by 6.3 per cent in June, 2015 over June, 2014. Its cumulative index during April to June, 2015-16 increased by 7.3 per cent over corresponding period of previous year, according to the official release.
 
Steel production (weight: 6.68per cent) increased by 4.9 per cent in June, 2015. Its cumulative index during April to June, 2015-16 increased by 2.8 per cent over the corresponding period of previous year.
 
Cement production (weight: 2.41per cent) increased by 2.6 per cent in June, 2015. Its cumulative index during Aprilto June, 2015-16 increased by 0.9 per cent over the corresponding period of previous year, the release showed.
 
Fertilizer production (weight: 1.25per cent) increased by 5.8 per cent in June, 2015. Its cumulative index during April to June, 2015-16 increased by 2.4 per cent over the corresponding period of previous year. (KNN Bureau)
