Livelihood of Indian traders is the foremost priority of PM Modi, says Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, Jan 7 (KNN) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has assured Indian traders to solve e-commerce issue and said that livelihood of Indian traders is the foremost priority of the Prime Minister.    

Taking to micro-blogging site twitter, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) quoted the Minister as saying.

''Defence Minister Shri @rajnathsingh speaking at #CAITnationalconvention assures Indian traders that the Govt is extremely serious about resolving the #ecommerce issue which has been raised by @TEAMCAIT @praveendel. Livelihood of Indian traders is the foremost priority of the PM,'' CAIT tweeted.

While inaugurating three days National Traders Convention held by Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Monday here the Minister while appreciating the contribution of traders in national economy declared that Union Government is committed to protect the traders from onslaught of E commerce companies like Amazon and Flipkart who are alleged to be involved in mal practices in their business Model.

Thousands of traders from all over the country are attending the three days Convention of CAIT.

Speaking at the convention Rajnath Singh said that he has spoken to Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and said that he has instructed the Competition Commission of India to speed up the investigation against both the companies and take necessary action.

He also said that whoever big may be will not be allowed under any circumstances to violate the FDI policy and law. He also said that Government is also looking at complaints of GST and Income Tax avoidance by these companies and if found guilty, the law will take its own course.

Calling traders as backbone of Indian economy, Rajnath SIngh applauded the cooperation of traders in making GST a success taxation system and said that government do understand the problems of the traders in GST and all such problems will be resolved very soon. He sought cooperation of the traders in making India a 5 trillion economy.

Meanwhile, CAIT in another tweet quoted the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep S Puri who acknowledged the role of traders in building a strong economy

''Hon’ble Minister Shri @HardeepSPuri while speaking at the #CAITnationalconvention acknowledged the role of traders in building a strong economy and applauded the work of @TEAMCAIT @praveendel for tirelessly coordinating with his ministry in trying to resolve Delhi #sealing issue,'' CAIT tweeted.
