Mahila bank to have 40 additional branches across the country

New Delhi, Jan 14 (KNN) Bhartiya Mahila Banks (BMB) the first all-women bank of India will have a total of 80 branches across the country by March end, according to a media report.

The bank which has 40 branches in various parts of the country will open 40 additional branches with 20 exclusive ones in rural areas during the current financial year.

According to the report, BMB Chairman and Managing Director Usha Ananthasubramanian said that the bank has plans to establish the branches in cities like Surat, Vijayawada, Jamshedpur and Nagpur among others.

She said the products offered by the bank are different from normal banks and they also offer higher rate of interest.

Ananthasubramanian said they are also planning to introduce app-based mobile banking from January 15. It will include unique features like simple steps for fund transfer facility and will offer an entire gamut of banking facility.

Besides the traditional asset products like home loan and vehicle loan, BMB offers women-centric products like BMB Parvarish, BMB Annapurna, BMB Shringar for opening beauty parlours to enable women to engage in economic activities. (KNN Bureau)
