Market cap of BSE SME kisses Rs 5000 cr mark

Mumbai, Mar 10 (KNN) As the sensex crosses the 22000 mark, the small companies listed on the BSE SME platform today reached the market capitalization in the kissing range of Rs 5,000 crore.
The combined market capitalization of the 50 companies listed on the platform today reached Rs 49,998.74 crore with the Max Alert Sys notching up top gains of 17.14 per cent followed by Jointeca Edu by 13.46 per cent.
In all there were 13 gainers in the trading today while 10 of them lost, some of them with equal force like Comfort Commotrade.
Of the 50 companies listed on the platform, the number of companies actively traded is just about 24 underscoring the need for a lot more work to be done to popularize the alternative avenue for market trading.
As many as eight companies have submitted their documents with the market regulator SEBI for raising the capital on the BSE SME and getting listed there. These include SPS Finquest Limited, Women’s Next Loungeries Limited and Shri Krishna Prasadam Limited. (KNN/PC)
