New industrial policy will give fillip to trade and industry: DIPP Sec

New Delhi, Sept 29 (KNN) The proposed new industrial policy which will be announced soon will give fillip to trade and industry, said Rajiv Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Department of Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

He said that proposed policy will encompass the use of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and IoT which will open new avenues for investments in India.

Speaking at the 13th edition of Annapoorna World of Food India 2018, organised by FICCI in association with Koelnmesse GmBH in Mumbai, Aggarwal said “The government of India’s policy regime and robust business environment has ensured that foreign capital keeps flowing into the country.”

He further added that the food processing sector is one of the emerging sectors in our country and government will relax FDI regulations to give a boost to this sector.

While sharing views via a video message, Commerce & Industry Minister, Suresh Prabhu said, “We are working on different areas like agriculture policies, export and import policies, and food parks to boost the growth of the industry.”
