NIFTEM to set up six pilot plants in food processing to help new entrepreneurs

New Delhi, April 19 (KNN) The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) is setting up six pilot plants to become business incubation centre for budding entrepreneurs aspiring to start units in the large and also medium, small and micro enterprises (MSMEs).

The project on the pilot basis will be brought in the areas of food processing and presentation.

It will soon be appointing consultants for concept to commissioning of the different pilot plants.

The institute is seeking to rope in experienced project management agencies or consultants for setting up of the pilot plants related to the areas of fruits and vegetable processing, dairy processing, processing of meat and poultry products, grains and cereals, bakery and ready-to-eat/traditional foods.

NIFTEM is an autonomous institution functions as a centre for integrated education, research, enterprise incubation and outreach in area of food science, food technology and business management.

It has an objective to provide research facilities to the food industry for development of novel and innovative products and processes and modification of existing products and processes. (KNN/ST)
