Nirmala Sitharaman to meet State Finance Ministers for Pre-budget discussions

New Delhi, 29 Dec (KNN) As a part of pre-budget consultation with the stakeholders, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will meet the state finance ministers tomorrow which will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

So far eight meetings have taken place with key members of industries, financial sector etc., discussing and suggesting inputs for the 2022-23 budget.

The Finance Ministry said that more than 120 invitees representing seven stakeholder groups participated in eight meetings, scheduled between 15th to 22nd December, 2021.

The Union budget is expected to be presented on 1st February, 2022 during the first half of the parliamentary budget session.

Some of the suggestions made so far were about rationalisation of income tax slabs, infrastructure status for digital services and incentives to hydrogen storage.

This budget marks the fourth Budget since Prime Minister Narendra Modi go re-elected and Union Minister Sitharaman has been appointed as the Finance Minister.

It also holds major significance in paving way towards recovery taking place in the Indian economy hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
