November records $32 bn exports; trade deficit expands to $23.8 bn

New Delhi, Dec 16 (KNN) India’s merchandise exports in the month of November 2022 stood at USD 31.99 billion and the trade deficit widened to USD 23.89 billion during the month, said the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.

As per the data released by the Ministry late in the evening, it stated that the imports rose by 5.37 per cent to USD 55.88 billion in November as compared to USD 53.03 billion in the corresponding month a year ago.

During April-November 2022, exports rose by 11 per cent to USD 295.26 billion as against USD 265.77 billion in the same month last year.

However, imports rose by 29.5 per cent to USD 493.61 billion during the eight months period of this fiscal.

It was USD 381.17 billion during April-November 2021, as per the data.

Non-petroleum and non-gems & jewellery exports in November 2022 were USD 24.09 billion, compared to USD 23.91 billion in November 2021 while its imports were USD 34.45, compared to USD 32.33 billion in November 2021.

The estimated value of services export for November2022* is USD 26.23 billion, as compared to USD 20.67 billion in November 2021 and its import for November 2022* is USD 13.44 billion as compared to USD 12.63 billion in November 2021.  (KNN Bureau)
