NSE in talks with 20 SMEs to get listed with its platform 'Emerge'

Mumbai, Sept 9 (KNN) ‘Emerge’, the SME platform for the National Stock Exchange (NSE) is in discussion with 20 companies for getting listed with it, out of which 12 of are from the eastern region.

The head of NSE's business development, Ravi Varanasi, who was in the city to attend a seminar on capital market called Vibrant Capital Market, a myth or a reality, told media that the stock exchange was also trying to bring more small and medium companies to the SME trading platform. 

He said that so far, there were only five companies which were listed on NSE's 'SME Emerge' platform. 

"We aim at adding 20 more such companies during the current financial year," he said. 

Since the launch of Emerge, SME platform of the NSE, in September 2012, five companies have got listed on the SME exchange raising Rs 87 crore through the platform.

Emerge-ITP was also launched in March this year, which is an Institutional Trading Platform that enables the venture capitalist or angel investor or promoter to make a block deal, bypassing IPO. (KNN/SD)
