Printing of Budget document begins with ‘Halwa ceremony’

New Delhi Feb 20 (KNN) The printing process Budget document has started with Halwa Ceremony on Friday. On this occasion Union Finance minister Arun Jaitely, MoS Finance Jayant Sinha and other senior officials were present in North Block.
It is a long on going tradition where Halwa is being prepared in a big pan for distribution among the ministry officials.
Many other officials like Finance secretary Ratan Watal, Revenue secretary Hasmukh Adhia and others were present.
After the distribution of Halwa, the officials have to stay in the Ministry till the budget is presented in the Lok Sabha. They are not allowed to talk with their families. Only senior officials are allowed to go home.
Around 100 officials are included in the budget printing process. Jaitley will present his second full fledged budget on 29 February. (KNN Bureau)
