RBI Central Board meets in Bengaluru; discusses about constitution of Monetary Policy Committee

Bengaluru, July 8 (KNN) The Central Board of RBI, which met here on Thursday, discussed about the constitution of Monetary Policy Committee.

The meeting of the Central Board of Reserve Bank of India was held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Bengaluru.

Dr. Raghuram G. Rajan, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, chaired the meeting. The Central Board met in Bengaluru after a span of seven years.

In the meeting the Central Board discussed, among other issues, macroeconomic developments and two other specific areas of operations of the Reserve Bank of India, namely, the Reserve Bank’s budget and constitution of Monetary Policy Committee.

The Board also reviewed the activities of the Board for Payment and Settlement System for the year ended March 2016 and discussed the draft Annual Report for 2015-16.

Besides Deputy Governors of the Reserve Bank of India Dr. Urjit R. Patel, R. Gandhi, S.S. Mundra and N.S.Vishwanathan, the other Directors of the Central Board present at the meeting were: Dr. Nachiket M. Mor, Prof. Damodar Acharya, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Bharat N. Doshi and Sudhir Mankad.

The meeting was also attended by Government nominee director on the Central Board, Shaktikanta Das, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
