RBI launches December-2014 round of Consumer Confidence Survey

Mumbai, Dec 1 (KNN)  The Reserve Bank of India has launched the December-2014 round of Consumer Confidence Survey that measures individuals’ opinions on current economic conditions and future expectations, the results of which will used for policy formulation.

RBI has been conducting Consumer Confidence Survey (CCS) on a quarterly basis since June 2010.

“The survey aims at capturing subjective assessments of around 5,400 respondents across 6 metropolitan cities viz., Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi,” an official release said today.

The survey seeks qualitative responses on questions pertaining to economic conditions, household circumstances, income, spending, perceptions on prices, employment prospects etc. The results of this survey provide useful information for policy formulation.

The agency M/s Sigma Research and Consulting Private Limited has been engaged to conduct the field work of the survey on behalf of the Reserve Bank of India. For this purpose, the respondents will be approached by the agency and the selected respondents are requested to provide the required information, it said.

Other individuals who are not approached by the agency can also participate in the survey round by providing their responses using linked survey schedule (Forms-Survey).
