Rs 19,500 cr solar budget to help India become manufacturing and R&D hub, says PM Modi
New Delhi, Mar 5 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Rs. 19,500 crore budget announcement for high-efficiency solar module manufacturing will enable India become a global hub for manufacturing and Research & Development of solar modules and related products.
He said this while addressing a webinar on 'Energy for Sustainable Growth' on Friday.
“Provisions have also been made in this year's budget regarding battery swapping policy and inter-operability standards,” he added.
The PM emphasised that these will reduce the problems faced in the use of electric vehicles in India.
This is ninth webinar in the series of post-budget webinars addressed by the Prime Minister.
He talked of a target of achieving 500 gigawatt non-fossil energy capacity and achiving 50 per cent of installed energy capacity through non-fossil energy by 2030.
He also pressed on how energy production, energy saving is equally important for sustainability. (KNN Bureau)
