Russia keen to strengthen trade ties with India as it reels under western sanctions

New Delhi, April 2 (KNN) Russia has showed keen interest in strengthening its trade ties with India by supplying goods to India through bypassing the sanctions imposed by the west.

Briefing PM Modi about the situation in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said we appreciate India’s stance on Ukraine as it is not a biased view and we are ready to provide any goods India seeks to buy.

He expressed confidence that India and Russia will bypass the "artificial impediments" created by sanctions imposed on Russia.

Minister of External Affairs  S Jaishankar reiterated that disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy and also respect for international law, UN Charter, sovereignty and territorial integrity of States.

The Russian foreign minister said that Russia has been moving away from using dollar in our relations with India, China and many other countries.

“We will use our national currency more now and make sure that our officials find a way to bypass sanctions to supply goods to India,” he added. (KNN Bureau)
