New Delhi, Mar 3 (KNN)  State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest lender, is preparing to start more of all-women branches and would also increase the number of fresh recruits among the women.

Around 35-40 per cent staff of the SBI which is headed by Arundhati Bhattacharya would retire in the next four to five years and thus new vacancies would be created, the bank Managing Director, A Krishna Kumar has said.

An all women bank, Bharatiya Mahila Bank, the first of its kind was inaugurated last November, to provide financial services predominantly to women, women self-help groups and women-run businesses.

By doing so, it would address issues relating to gender, empowerment and financial inclusion.  (KNN Bureau)
