Shares on BSE SME register smart gains despite sensex falling

Mumbai, Nov 6 (KNN)  As many as 10 companies notched up gains in the BSE SME platform today, gaining upto 20 per cent, despite the flagship BSE sensex falling below the 20,900 mark on the back of profit booking in rate sensitives realty and banks.

Among the top gainers were VCU DATA closing at Rs 43.50 up by 7.25 or 20 per cent; ATWL closing at Rs 28.25 up by 4.70 or 19.96 per cent; GCM SECU closing at Rs 271.35 up by 24.65 or 9.99 per cent; and NEWEVER closing at Rs 22.20 up by 2.00 or 9.90 per cent.

However, there was one single loser – SRGSFL closing at Rs 20.00 down by (-) 1.00 at (-) 4.76 per cent.

Today’s closing sensex slipped below the 21,000 mark owing to profit booking in rate sensitive realty and banks.  The 30-share index was at 20,904.3, down 70.16 points or 0.33 per cent this afternoon. It touched a high of 21,045.38 and a low of 20,882.4 in trade today.

The Nifty too was down 24.20 points or 0.39 per cent at 6,228.95, touching a high of 6,269.70 and a low of 6,220.25 today.

On the other hand, the S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.07 per cent and the S&P BSE Small cap Index gained 0.67 per cent.   (KNN/ES)
