Show cause notices to associations for not filing mandatory annual return

New Delhi, Oct 1 (KNN)  The Ministry of Home Affairs is issuing Show Cause Notices to some 10,300 associations registered under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA 2010) for not filing mandatory Annual Return for the financial years 2009-2010, 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 in the prescribed proforma FC-6 with requisite documents.

“A notice in this regard with the list of defaulting associations who have not filed the returns has also been placed on the official website of Ministry of Home Affairs / FCRA Wing (http://mha.nic.in or http://mha1.nic.in/fcra.htm),” an official release from the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

The defaulting associations are being asked to submit the proof of submission of returns within one month and in case they have not filed the returns, justification as to why there registration under FCRA, 2010 should not be cancelled.
 
In case no reply is received from the associations, action for cancellation of registration granted to the association will be initiated under FCRA 2010, it said.  (KNN/ES)
