New Delhi, Jul 8 (KNN) This Budget shows where we want to take the railways and at the same time where we want to take India through the railways, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on the Railway Budget presented today.

Modi said that his government's maiden railway budget shows the importance of Indian Railways in the journey of the country's development adding it focuses on "transparency and integrity".

He further said, "Railways are the country's growth engine. This railway budget focuses on transparency and development.” He said this soon after Railway minister DV Sadananda Gowda presented the budget.

"Budget will modernise railways and improve connectivity. Railway budget believes in technological modernisation," Modi said.

"Railway budget boosts institutional mechanism. It aims to provide safety to all rail passengers," Modi said.

Modi said the budget "keeps in mind the development of India. We can see the great use of technology also".

He added initiatives taken in the railway budget show that his government wants to take this industry as well as the country forward.

Modi praised the railway budget saying it strengthens institutional mechanism and focuses on transparency and integrity. (KNN/SD)
