Yogi proposes to link products made from cow dung, cow urine with MSMEs

Lucknow, Mar 13 (KNN) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has proposed branding of products made from cow dung and cow urine and link them to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector.

He also asserted that branding of products made from cow dung and cow urine through MSMEs can generate employment.

Speaking at a skill development programme in Lucknow on Thursday, the CM said ''the government could start a project around cows, where research would be conducted on the benefits of cows, including use of its dung and urine. This could generate employment as well.''

“If we can brand products made out of cow dung and cow urine and sell them through the MSME sector we can generate employment for the youth,'' he added

He empasised on zero budget farming and said that it has several more benefits compared to normal or even organic farming.

''In this, no chemicals or pesticides are used. A single stray cattle can produce fertiliser for a 30 acre farm for a year which will generate better produce compared to organic farming. The state has already got some farmers trained in this,” he added.

He also said that over five lakh youth had got employment through One District, One Product (ODOP) scheme in one year.

Yogi also launched the CM Youth Hub and CM Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme. All self-employment schemes currently being run by various departments will now be integrated under the Yuva Hub. Through this programme, assistance and guidance will be given to youth through vocational and skill training to set up their own enterprises. Under this scheme, 30,000 startup units will be set up in one year.
