New Delhi, Nov 3 (KNN)  Astrology happens to be the most sought after and yet, the most divisive issue. Setting speculation aside and opting to revolutionize it into a fully-fledged startup calls for immense courage, and so was born izofy.com.

Izofy is a market place that connects users with astrologers, numerologists, taro readers, vaastu consultants and healers. The first-of-its kind, the online numerology platform is capturing attention of a huge section of the society lately.

Founder of izofy.com, Rohit K Singhania tells KNN about his journey thus far and what he hopes for the future of his start-up.

Singhania was in high school when he developed an interest into numerology and horoscope. “Numerology is a science, and unlike other sciences, it is easy to understand and interpret.” Singhania said. “There are many things that numerology has an answer to. Though horoscope and palmistry might be complicated, numerology is relatively easy,” he added.

The founder is of the view that numerology can enhance the quality of life as has himself had undergone a change in his name, and claims it to be quite beneficial.  “I included a ‘K’ in my name in 2006 and, it turned out to be quite fruitful for my life ahead,” Singhania claims.

Numerology was mere a hobby to the founder until 2009, when he was working as a banker with Shrey Infrastructure.  Firm belief and recognition in the field compelled Sighania to give up his lofty paid job to acquire a full time career in numerology.

Singhania started with a venture named iZodiaque Numerology Services Private Limited in April, 2009. He ran the venture successfully until the end of 2014, when he and his co-founders decided to go digital.  And thus, iZofy.com came up in December 2014.

Singhania is happy that startup ventures are finally gaining attraction and success in the country.  However, he feels that astrology as full time profession is not getting proper recognition in India.  Further, astrologers in the market charge way too much.

The entrepreneur is so much into his profession that he has authored a book on numerology named , ‘Mr.izosayz’.

The transition from a being in a full-fledged job to a starting a business from the ground proved to be relatively smooth for the founder.  Although, looking for an appropriate team and hiring posed a challenge for the company. “People try to judge when it comes to this kind of profession, we need to look for proper skills while hiring, and salary for the team is always an issue for a new startup,” he explained.  Izofy now has a proper team specializing in different aspects of astrology.

When it came to acquiring funds, Izofy was quite lucky. It was funded by the very first person  Singhania approached. “We explained about our project well as we had proper domain expertise and decent education required for it, he said, adding that people were keen to discuss their project.

Izofy has recently acquired an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Prime capital Markets Limited.

The startup is planning to launch a mobile application in the coming months which is being designed under the supervision of some recognized expertise. Unicorn Innovation in Bangalore and Daffodil in Gurgaon are the prime contributors for designing the application. Izofy is also concentrating on publishing more and more articles on new concepts of vaastu and numerology.

Although not actively engaged in marketing, the company has decided to pour more money into content and product development, and consequently had to cut expenses on marketing.

At present, website is running successfully, acquiring more than 35-40 k hits during the last four months. (KNN Bureau)
