New Delhi, Oct 5 (KNN) A new platform to appreciate and enhance art, Rangvas which was established just a month ago, is already gaining immense popularity in the market.

Rangvas is a lifestyle brand that features a vast range of products including modern, abstract paintings, clay modelling and original framed art. It aims to render a unique identity to customer's home.

Evolving with the notion to appreciate the passion of colours and art, Anadita Yadav, the founder of Rangvas, shares the story of her journey with KNN.

Speaking about her journey in the beginning, she said, “At 'Rangvas we believe that art should be meaningful, unique, colourful and affordable. So when a customer buys a piece of art from 'Rangvas' he should be assured that it is uniquely his forever.”

“Only the best qualities of materials are used in the making of our products,” she noted.

Being the daughter of an army officer, Anandita got the opportunity to travel across the wide lengths of the country, discovering the art from different corners, and thus emerged within her, the passion for colours finally landing her into the creation of Rangvas.

Similar to many e-com ventures Anandita too gave up her fat paycheque as a consultant to a US conglomerate and started Rangvas when she noticed how difficult her friends - both in US and India, found decorating their homes and not end up with a bromidic room.

Having experienced the amazing colours and passions that decorated her life and inculcating the art of appreciating them through her mother-in-law, Dr Deepshikha who is the creative head and Art Guru at Rangvas, she would now like to share her journey with others. Hence was born the idea of ‘Rangvas’.

Although only a month old, the response on the social networking platforms of Rangvas has been great. “On Facebook, we are about to reach the 5000 likes milestone pretty soon,” discloses the entrepreneur.

The founder holds a firm notion that Most people in India imagine art as being the privilege of the rich and worthy and not as something which should be part of their lifestyle and home.

She further exerted that artwork available at art galleries is expensive and requires a sense of aesthetics to be able to truly appreciate it which not everyone may have.

“To inspire people to appreciate modern, abstract art forms that are available at affordable prices is our single biggest challenge,” she said.

As for the funding, the enterprise is bootstrapping as of now, while looking for some funding options.

The enterprise also aims to make a difference in regard to the belief that only rich are accustomed to the artwork for decorating their homes and offices. It claims to offer a vast range of products including modern, abstract paintings, clay modelling and original framed art at affordable prices.

Keeping in pace with the e-commerce websites, Rangvas recently revamped its website. The initial response has been good, as per the belief of the founder, and they are in the process of expanding the product line to include other home decor items such as vases, lamps etc.

“We are also looking at launching a mobile app. In the forthcoming years we would like to establish Rangvas as a leader in unique, modern artwork that is inspired by India.”  The entrepreneur expressed her hope to expand their presence internationally in the coming years.

As for the development of the SMEs, she believes that this is a good time for the start-ups.

“However, getting funding is still a challenge for SMEs. The 'Make in India' campaign needs to be promoted further,” she expressed further. (KNN/ J)
