Bengaluru, Sept 18 (KNN) Natsy By Design, a woman led SME based out of Bangalore, is organising a two day collaborative exhibition on September 20-21, 2019.

This is the second edition of the annual event, aptly named Samuha, which brings together a collective of artists and designers showcasing their art and handicrafts celebrating all things beautiful and hand-crafted.

Samuha will be held on September 20-21 between 11 am to 6 pm at 50, Bangalore Santhe (SideB), Next to Swami Vivekananda Metro Station, Old Madras Road, Bangalore.

Women entrepreneurs belonging to the SME segment working with artisans in the handloom and handicraft industry will be participating in the conference.

“The idea behind it was for like-minded entrepreneurs to come together and collaborate on an event rather than paying organisers a huge participation fee or stall charges which defeats the purpose of promoting craft at a fair cost,” Natasha from Nats By Design said.

All the designers work with rural artisans and handicraft communities to co-create products that are relevant to contemporary lifestyle and at the same time preserve and promote the craft.

The products range from carefully curated handloom apparel, hand-embroidered dupattas, sarees and blouses, stoles and scarves, linen and banarasi sarees, watercolours and folk paintings, contemporary, traditional and nomadic jewellery, pure silver and fine jewellery with certified semi-precious stones, hand-crafted collectables and home decor, artistic serveware, banana fibre stationery, jute and cotton handbags, essential oils, a range of wellness products and lots more.

In an economic environment where small enterprises are struggling to survive, collaboration definitely seems to be the answer, Natasha opined.

Natsy By Design is a social enterprise that endeavours to protect, preserve and promote all things hand-crafted in the Indian subcontinent. It collaborates with artisans from across the country and present their age old craft to the world through an online store.
