Jaipur, Dec 26 (KNN)  Being one of the top destination for domestic and foreign and foreign tourism, Rajasthan is celebrating its annual Winter Festival from December 29 to 31, 2013 in the state’s only hill station Mount Abu.

The three-day colourful event is being jointly organised by the state Tourism Development Corporation Limited (RTDC) and the Mt Abu Municipal Board.

Lakhs of small tourism-related business like transport operators, restaurants, hotels, etc. depend on the hospitality sector.

They look forward to annual winter tourism for business growth.

Generally, the festival which attracts the tourists around the world begins with a ceremonial procession starts from RTDC Hotel Shikhar and gathers at the Nakki Lake Chowk. It is followed by folk performances by artistes from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana.

It will feature a variety of programmes on like run for clean and green, cultural caravan, magic show, matka race, tug of war, mehndi mandna, turban tying, poster competition, rock climbing, boat race, fancy dress competition, photo exhibition, lok rang, cultural evening and many more.

The grand finale of the festival will be made brighter by a display of dazzling fireworks.

Rajasthan is one of the leading tourism states in the country. Its glorious heritage and colourful culture is a special attraction for foreign tourists.  (KNN/ST)
